Whispered Rhymes

for 3 or more players
Material: rhyme cards with counting rhymes in various languages and rough translations on the back; recordings of counting games in various languages; blank cards & pens

Rules:
Everyone sits in a circle with their legs out.
The rhyme cards are shuffled and one person chooses a card.
The player reads out the rhyme in the foreign language and plays the recording once or twice. Then they have to do their best to say the rhyme and tap the players’ legs as they say it.
The first person on whose leg the rhyme ends has to fold that leg and repeat the rhyme as best they can (without looking at the card or listening to the recording again) while tapping the remaining players’ legs.
If a player ‘looses’ both legs they’re out.
Repeat until only one unfolded leg is left and the rhyme has likely deteriorated into complete gibberish.
The last leg wins the game.
The winner has to come up with a new (and better) translation for the original verse.
